  5. The Nova Accounting System (NAS) is a collection of modifiable, integrated 4GL
  6. applications consisting of standard accounting modules designed for use by
  7. non-accounting personnel, PO/Inventory, Job Costing, and Job Shop Scheduling
  8. applications for small- to medium-sized business. Applications are written with
  9. a fourth generation database that permits a high degree of user control
  10.  
  11. Nova's Job Cost System consists of three integrated program modules: Materials,
  12. Purchasing, and Job Costing. The system draws on materials and purchasing files
  13. and on user-defined formulas for labor and burden rates to calculate job costs
  14. for manufactured items. In addition to materials and labor costs, any number of
  15. other cost types may be defined and included in the costing calculation. The
  16. system produces a number of useful management reports including in-progress job
  17. cost reports for any point in a job's history.
